Can I use the barcodes commercially?
Yes, the codes you generate are yours to use on products, packaging, labels and marketing material. Note that to sell products in retail you also need an official GS1 company prefix — this tool renders the barcode, it does not allocate you a registered number.
Is my data sent to your server?
No. Generation happens in your browser using JavaScript. The content you type — product codes, WiFi passwords, contact details — never leaves your device. We only count anonymous page visits.
Which format should I download for printing?
SVG. It is a vector format, so it stays perfectly sharp at any size, which is what printers and packaging designers need. Use PNG or JPG for websites, e-mails and presentations.
Why does my EAN-13 say the data is invalid?
EAN-13 accepts exactly 12 or 13 digits and nothing else. If you enter 12 digits, the 13th check digit is calculated for you automatically. Letters, spaces and dashes are not permitted in this format.
How much data fits in a QR code?
Roughly 4 000 alphanumeric characters at the lowest error-correction level, but shorter content produces a simpler pattern that scans faster and prints smaller. For long URLs, use a short link.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. These are static QR codes — the data is encoded directly into the pattern, so they keep working forever and do not depend on our site staying online.
